It’s been a while, but I’m back! Where have I been? Well, life has just been hectic, to say the least, but in the midst of it all, I was lucky enough to attend the most amazing fashion-filled adventure in New York, taking in all the pretty at New York Bridal Fashion Week 2019 while covering social media for Style Me Pretty!
From runway shows to showroom visits, I was able to see it all. For a girl who loves bridal and weddings as much as I do, I felt like a kid in a candy store! To see all these amazing designers in-person, and experience the dresses, up close and personal, has been a dream of mine since high school, and to see it come true – by only age 25, I’m still speechless. It was definitely a highlight of my life so far. I know young Lauren would be soooo proud! Let’s get into some of the highlights of my trip:
I stayed at the Moxy Hotel and OMG this urban daydream had a Putnam & Putnam flower shop (eeek!) right in the front lobby…talk about making an entrance! Every time I came back to my hotel I was welcomed with the scents and colors of the prettiest blooms! 🌸
And a two-minute walk from the Moxy…Blo Blow Dry Bar: Chelsea! (Bless up!!) I started every morning in New York City with Starbucks and a trip to Blo so I didn’t have to worry about fixing up my own hair, plus it saved me so much room in my suitcase!
Getting to visit Vera Wang’s showroom? I think I had to pinch myself a million times because I was certain that I was dreaming. White walls and black furniture…it was just as chic and full of style as anyone could ever imagine….and then some!
One of the most surreal moments of my trip was visiting JLM Couture because it houses one of my favorite dress designers: Hayley Paige! I was able to check out her newest collections, and one of my favorites had to be Max (pictured below) because of all the textures and details. Let’s hope this dress is still around when I get engaged!! 💍
I even got to meet Hayley Paige, the woman behind some of the most Instagram-worthy gowns! She is just as fun, sweet, and magical as she appears and is a huge inspiration!
I’m pretty sure my diet only consisted of Starbucks and pastries (mostly macaroons) during the four days I was in New York. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with that, right?
Eeeek…another highlight, I was also able to meet Hunter McGrady at the Watters runway show, and not only is she even more gorgeous in person, but she has a personality to match, such an incredibly sweet person! Watters is making custom wedding dress(es) for her upcoming wedding this summer and peep her headband which was custom she’s wearing which was also made by them!
Let’s not forget about this Cinderella moment with Anne Barge…✨
I hope you guys enjoyed this recap of my trip to New York Bridal Fashion Week! You can see even more from my trip on my Instagram story highlights at @LaurenWhalley and @StyleMePretty. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for my future with SMP, hopefully a lot more travel! 😉
